The Lord has provided many wonderful people to lead and shepherd Bethel Church. While God’s Word exhorts everyone in the church to do “the work of the ministry” (Ephesians 4:12), some people have special leadership roles and responsibilities within the congregation. Below are some important leadership teams within Bethel.
Elders – Bethel is an elder-led congregation. This means that our Elder Team is ultimately responsible for the ministries and shepherding of the church. Our team of elders are appointed by the church membership and they must meet the qualifications of Elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. In addition to providing overall direction for Bethel Church, elders actively respond to pastoral needs by praying, caring, and ministering directly to the congregation.
Pastors – Our Pastors provide daily oversight to the many ministries of Bethel Church. All have a public leadership role within the church that often includes teaching, shepherding, counseling, training, and equipping.
Directors – Bethel’s Directors are church staff who give leadership to many essential ministries. They serve alongside the pastoral staff, and are responsible for many critical discipleship and ministry initiatives of the church.
Campus Staff – Bethel has many other staff people who make things happen at our various locations. While each staff person is generally focused on a particular campus, most have responsibilities that extend to all campuses. In addition to our paid staff, Bethel has a team of volunteer Deacons who provide oversight to the finances, facilities, and benevolent needs of the church.
