AWANA is an international children's program offered by Bethel as another means for partnering with adults in raising up and training their children. The AWANA name comes from the Bible in 2 Timothy 2:15 which says: "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. AWANA meets from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday nights throughout the school year and is divided into the following segments:
- LARGE GROUP TIME includes singing, announcements of upcoming events, contests.
- TEACHING TIME is age-appropriate instruction from the Bible covering topics that will introduce who Jesus is and how to grow in a personal relationship with Him.
- GAME TIME offers clubbers the opportunity to participate as team members in activities that help them develop team spirit, good sportsmanship, coordination skills, and self-confidence.
- HANDBOOK TIME consists of interaction between individual clubbers and their leader. Each clubber gets a handbook that is divided into sections of various activities, including Bible memorization.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN AWANA? Boys and girls ages three years old (by August 1st) through fifth grade.
