What To Expect

Wondering what our worship services are like? We invite you to visit us at Bethel Gary and see for yourself what the Lord is doing. The information below will give you an idea of what you can anticipate.

What’s the music like?

Our praise and worship focuses on glorifying Jesus through music. Led by a full band and ensemble-style vocal team, the sound of worship at Bethel Gary combines both old and new school gospel to provide a worship experience that invites all people to lift up the name of Jesus through music. Engagement without intrusion is our M.O. So, no worries. No one will bark orders at you during praise and worship. If singing is not your thing or you don’t know the words, you’re welcome to just listen and reflect on the message of praise and worship that each song proclaims. You are free, here, to worship God in a way that is authentic to you.

What’s the preaching like?

Preaching is the main element of the service. We teach from the Bible, the Word of God, exploring and exposing the meaning behind a particular passage and then offering application for your everyday life. To us, the Bible is not merely a historical document. We believe it is always relevant, always applicable. Through God’s Word, He meets you where you are, guiding you through whatever you’re experiencing at home or work and offering the hope of the Gospel. Knowing this, we preach the Bible and the Bible alone.

What should I wear?

You’ll be just fine in jeans and a t-shirt, or business casual attire, or a dress or shirt-and-tie… whatever makes you feel comfortable. We realize that what you’re wearing on your physical man when you enter the building is not nearly as important as what you’re wearing on your heart when you exit. We will be happy you came just the way you are.

Will my kids sit with me?

While you’re participating in the worship services, your kids will learn more about Jesus in a fun and age-appropriate way, via our Kids’ Ministries. Classes are available for newborns through 5th grade on Sunday mornings at Bethel Gary.
When you arrive at the church, one of our greeters will lead you to the Kids’ Center, where you can check in on your kids with a system that is safe and secure.
